The Color Blue (2024)
Role: Cinematographer
The Color Blue is a dialogue-free short film that explores connection, timing, and emotional tension through visual storytelling.
The film follows a couple returning to an apartment building after being out drinking together. Throughout the film, they repeatedly come close to sharing a romantic moment, but are constantly interrupted , first by neighbors, then by outside distractions. These interruptions create a sense of anticipation and emotional buildup.
As they finally reach the apartment, an unexpected external event  an oncoming rocket alarm  forces them and the other residents into a bunker. This sudden shift changes the tone of the scene, placing the characters in a shared, tense environment.
Inside the bunker, the emotional distance between them begins to close. The film ends with a quiet moment of physical connection, as the male character puts his arm around her and she leans into him, accompanied by music that reinforces the emotional resolution.
This project allowed me to focus on framing, lighting, and movement to communicate emotion without dialogue, emphasizing how visual language can carry a story.
